LEARNING TO FOLLOW jesus
Our daily goal is to learn more about Jesus, to become more like Him and to follow Him more closely.
We believe the Bible is a reliable & authoritative source of answers to questions such as
Who is God?
Who is Jesus?
What does God desire of humans in response to His Love and Grace?
What does being a Christian "look like" in today’s world? (Acts 11:26)
We believe the Bible tells of
* God's work of Creation
* the darkness and brokenness that entered creation through the sin of Humans (the failure to live in perfect harmony with and obedience to God)
* God's unfailing LOVE and continued work to restore Creation to its original Goodness
* the Good News of Jesus the Christ who came to redeem humans from sin
* God’s desire for people today to love, serve and worship the risen Jesus.
* the work of the Spirit in guiding believers towards lives that are loving, truthful and righteous.
Our desire is that everyone can develop the faith to follow Jesus in obedience so that, as we approach the end of our time here on earth, we are able to say, (as the apostle Paul did).
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
We believe ongoing Bible study is needed to more fully understand God’s message.
The knowledge gained from study along with prayer and sharing of experiences with other believers helps us discern the leading of the Holy Spirit and walk in love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:23-24)
The articles in this section are provided as an aid to searching out answers to spiritual questions.
We invite you to read these thoughts on Jesus, God and the working of the Spirit critically and with prayerful reading of the scriptures being discussed.
We encourage everyone to be like the Bereans who “received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what (was) said was true”. (Acts 17:11)
We invite respectful dialog if your understanding of God’s message differs the one presented.
